Ed is a Respiratory and Intensive care specialist.
Background: Ed completed his medical degree in 2003 at Imperial College, London. He completed his training in Respiratory Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and was awarded his PhD (UWA) in 2016 for research into malignant pleural disease. He is currently a respiratory and intensive care specialist at the Midland SJOG Public and Private Hospitals.
Clinical: Ed manages all aspects of Respiratory Medicine. He has special expertise in the investigation and management of pleural diseases and lung cancer, including EBUS, thoracic ultrasound, pleuroscopy and management of indwelling pleural catheters.
Research: Ed has funding from the NHMRC to lead a research team with current clinical trials ongoing in the fields of pneumonia and pleural disease (including mesothelioma).
Personal: He enjoys music and outdoor sports including open water swimming, mountain biking and rock climbing especially when his school-age children can get involved.
