David is a Respiratory and General Medicine Specialist.
Background: Dave completed an MBBS with honours in 2006 at UWA and completed his training in Respiratory Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in 2014. He is currently is a specialist at the Midland SJOG Public and Private Hospitals where is also lead of the hospital’s Choosing Wisely program. He is completing his Masters of Clinical Research at UWA focusing on Australian implementation issues for lung cancer screening. In addition to his clinical roles, he is an adjunct senior clinical lecturer at Curtin Medical School.
Clinical: Dave manages all aspects of Respiratory Medicine with special interests in lung cancer and management of lung nodules. He has expertise in bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS). He is currently the national co-convener of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand Lung Cancer Special Interest Group.
Research: Dave’s research interests are varied and include investigating implementation issues for lung cancer screening in Australia, predicting outcomes following non-invasive ventilation use and improving care for those with lung cancer. He has co-authored thirteen peer-reviewed research papers.
